Clarivate, a leading global provider of transformative intelligence, provides data, insights, analytics, and workflow solutions across various industries. Its services empower organizations to accelerate innovation, safeguard intellectual property, and make data-driven decisions with confidence.
At Clarivate India, the core Learning and Development team plays a pivotal role in managing and delivering comprehensive new hire training, refresher courses, and upskilling programs for Operations. With most trainers being in-house subject matter experts mainly from an Operations background, there emerged a critical need to enhance their facilitation skills and elevate their professional finesse.
With a significant expansion in workforce expected in the near future, the organization envisioned a development initiative for its training team to:
- Cultivate the core competencies and professionalism expected of a Clarivate trainer
- Master essential facilitation techniques to design and deliver impactful, learner- centric training programs
- Serve as inspiring Brand Ambassadors, embodying the values and vision of Clarivate
To address these priorities, Emergence Learning Solutions was chosen as a strategic learning partner to craft an intervention designed to empower the trainers with the skills, confidence, and presence required to excel in their roles.
OUR APPROACH
Emergence Learning Solutions designed and delivered a tailored Train-the-Trainer (TTT) workshop aimed at elevating the facilitation skills of Clarivate’s trainers. The workshop was structured around the E.A.T.S. Model, focusing on the following key areas:


Pre-Workshop Assessment and Feedback
To lay a strong foundation, a comprehensive assessment was conducted to evaluate each trainer’s current facilitation skills. This diagnostic exercise identified key areas for improvement, which informed the design of a tailored workshop plan. Following the assessment, facilitators provided personalized feedback to each participant, guiding them to create a focused self-excellence plan aimed at fostering their professional growth.
Workshop – In-Class Practice and Real-Time Feedback
Emergence delivered an immersive 2-day workshop designed to refine the facilitation and foundational content development skills of Clarivate’s trainers. The program included hands-on teach-back sessions, where participants applied their newly acquired skills in a simulated training environment. These sessions offered a dynamic platform for trainers to demonstrate their enhanced capabilities, with immediate, constructive feedback from workshop facilitators on their effectiveness in content delivery, learner engagement, and class management.
Post-Workshop Assessment and Development Feedback
One month after the workshop, a follow-up assessment was conducted to measure the progress and transformation in the trainers’ skills across three critical areas:
- Class Presence
- Learner Engagement
- Demonstration of Clarivate Values
Participants received individualized feedback, with actionable tips and strategies for sustained improvement, ensuring their growth journey continued beyond the workshop.

Outcome Achieved
The results of the assessments conducted by Emergence facilitators showcased a measurable and meaningful transformation in the participants’ facilitation skills.
An improvement of 11% was achieved in Class Presence, reflecting enhanced confidence and professional demeanour.
A 14% increase was achieved in Learner Engagement, demonstrating the trainers’ ability to captivate and connect with their audience effectively.
A 15% growth as achieved in Demonstration of Clarivate Values, reflecting stronger alignment with, and embodiment of the organization’s core principles.
PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE
- 97.2 % of the participants found the skills covered in the program relevant to their professional development and acquired effective learner engagement techniques
- 100% of participants felt more confident with applying instructional design fundamentals in creating impactful content, including ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Learning Styles
